In order to encourage the implementation of Good Mining Practice in the management of mining businesses for holders of Mining Business Permits (IUP) in Central Java, there needs to be a Good Mining Practice award at the Central Java Provincial Level. To assess the candidates for award recipients, a Good Mining Practice Award Assessment Team must be formed, which is determined based on the Decree of the Head of the Energy and Mineral Resources Service of Central Java Province Number 500.10.2.3/7551. The duties of the Assessment Team are to plan assessment activities, conduct evaluations and assessments of mining businesses in Central Java, conduct field reviews as a form of confirmation and guidance of Good Mining Practice, formulate assessment results as consideration for determining awards and a list of Companies implementing Good Mining Practice, report the results of activities that have been carried out to the Head of the Energy and Mineral Resources Service of Central Java Province. Field visit activities took place from 4 to 18 February 2025.
The Department of Geological Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University was actively involved as an Assessment Team in the Good Mining Practice Award activities at the Central Java Provincial Level for the 2025 Fiscal Year. The teaching staff involved were Dr. Dian Agus Widiarso, S.T., M.T. and Rinal Khaidar Ali, S.T., M.Eng. The involvement of the Department of Geological Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University in the activity is a form of function in carrying out one of the tasks of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, the third pillar, namely community service. This pillar reflects the role of universities in providing positive contributions to society through various community service programs. Through this activity, it is hoped that science and knowledge in the campus environment can be applied to mining businesses, especially those in Central Java. In addition, through this activity, it also introduces the general public, especially the industrial community, to the Department of Geological Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University.
