[Semarang, February 1, 2025] – Division V Public Relations of HMTG Magmadipa implemented one of its work programs, namely OBAMA (Chat with Magmadipa Alumni). OBAMA itself is an interactive activity that connects active students of Geological Engineering, Diponegoro University with alumni of Geological Engineering, Diponegoro University. In this event, alumni share their inspiring stories about their career journeys, challenges faced, and strategies used to succeed in the industrial world. This OBAMA event collaborated with IATMI (Indonesian Petroleum Engineering Experts Association) SM Undip, which carried the theme “Chatting with Alumni: From Dreams, to Actions from Those Who Have Succeeded”. Of course, with this activity, it is hoped that participants will have the opportunity to have direct dialogue and ask questions with experienced alumni and get a real picture of the world of work and career paths of alumni. As the name implies, this activity invited several alumni of Geological Engineering, Diponegoro University as speakers, namely Widiastuti Nur Farida, alumnus of Geological Engineering, Undip in 2011, Maman Sudarman, alumnus of Geological Engineering, Undip in 2014, and Elok Annisa Devi, an alumni of Geological Engineering, Undip in 2013. In its implementation, this event was divided into two sessions, where the first session had the theme of Sharing Session & Talkshow, which was filled by Widiastuti Nur Farida who is currently working at Pertamina EP Cepu and Maman Sudarman who is currently working at Pertamina PHE OSES. In his presentation, the speaker explained the description of the recruitment process, which includes Document submission, TKD/TPA, HC/psychologist Interview, User Interview, Medical Check-up (MCU), and Top Management/Board of Directors Interview. Furthermore, the speaker also explained the role of geologists in companies which are certainly very diverse, and shared some preparations for entering the world of work, including studying basic knowledge during college as well as possible, improving soft skills and experience, determining interests, taking more courses and certificates of expertise, increasing worship, honoring both parents, and being patient and believing that behind every patience there must be wisdom. After the sharing session by the speaker was finished, it was continued with a QnA session. In this session, participants were allowed to ask the speaker about the topic or the speaker’s experience.
Next, in the second session, Elok Annisa Devi presented the theme Application Preparation Towards Future Insight. In her presentation, the speaker explained about Oil and Gas Business Overview: Global and Indonesia, then also explained about Professional Opportunities, and finally also conveyed about what we should prepare if we want to be successful. Overall, it can be said that the speaker gave tips and tricks to participants on how to enter the professional industry and find out how the real industry is. In addition, at the end of the session, lucky participants were given the opportunity to do a simulation interview with the speaker. After the sharing session by the speaker was finished, it was continued with a QnA session. In this QnA session, participants were allowed to ask the speaker about the topic or the speaker’s experience. Then the event continued with the moderator thanking the speaker for taking the time to attend this activity as a speaker. The committee then gave a certificate to the speaker as a token of gratitude. Then, the handover of the certificate was documented by the operator. By handing over the certificate to the speaker, it shows that OBAMA X IATMI Future Career has reached the end of the activity. The moderator expressed his gratitude and closing remarks and greetings to close today’s activities.
