Bravo! The delegation of Geological Engineering students once again made achievements in the academic field. The team represented by Gospel Pro Deo Bernauli Sihaloho, Nur Graha Prima Santosa, and L. Fahmi Nuruddin won the title in the mapping competition “Geology Open Challenge (GOC) 2022” organized by Geological Engineering, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (UNSOED) Purwokerto. This national level competition was attended by representatives of Geological Engineering students from all over Indonesia and Geological Engineering students managed to beat other competitors as 2nd winner.
The 2022 Geology Open Challenge (GOC) competition, which is part of the 2022 Earth Map event series, was held on August 6-12, 2022. This event is a mapping competition with the theme “Determination of Dam Sites”, where participants compete to map an area of 4×3 km2, analyze the data, and present it as report and oral presentation. GOC 2022 has been held since 2019 and our Geological Engineering students have never been absent from winning titles.
Student participation in competitions such as GOC 2022 certainly has a positive impact on students to implement their geological knowledge and gain achievement. With this achievement, hopefully it can be a spark of enthusiasm for younger students who are just starting to study at UNDIP Geological Engineering.
