The Student Creativity Program (PKM) is an effort made by the Ministry of Education and Culture through the Directorate General of Higher Education in order to build graduates who have academic knowledge, thinking skills, management and communication skills. In accordance with the direction from the Rector of Diponegoro University, students are encouraged to participate in PKM activities, especially those taking Entrepreneurship courses. In connection with this, HMTG Magmadipa held a “Road to PKM 2021” event on Saturday, February 13, 2021 through the online platform Microsoft Teams. Besides being attended by students of the Geological Engineering Department, this event was also attended by lecturers who were expected to later be able to guide students in preparing PKM proposals according to their fields of expertise. The event was opened with remarks from Noah Joel Theofillus as chairman of HMTG Magmadipa and Mr. Najib, ST, M.Eng., Ph.D as head of the department.

This activity presented speakers from Diponegoro University who had experience guiding students in PKM activities until they passed funding and won a national medal. Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Widiasa, ST, MT delivered the material about the right move to pass proposal selection. The Director of Innovation and Development of Undip Research said that to be able to write a good proposal, the topic must be innovative and has added value from existing work. Therefore, the scientific basis needs to be supported by as many references as possible and the latest scientific journals related to the topic. Proposal writing guidelines must be read and observed carefully because proposals that are passed must follow the established administrative requirements and formats.

The next speaker is Prof. Dr. Heri Susanto, S.Si, M.Si, delivered speech with the title “Tips for Preparing PKM Proposals”. He said that great ideas and innovations cannot be of use if they are not materialized in a study plan, one of which is through the PKM proposal. There are eight PKM fields with certain characteristics that can be selected in submitting a proposal, and it is expected that it is in accordance with the field study of students. The flow of the proposal admission begins with acceptance at the university level, internal selection, announcements of passing the internal selection, to representatives of PIMNAS. Through the Student Creativity Program, it is hoped that one day students will become members of society who have academic, professional abilities, can apply, develop, disseminate science and technology and enrich national culture.
