One of the Geological Engineering Department students, Ilham Muhammad and his team, won the Outstanding Project award at the 2021 Istanbul Youth Summit. This event is the fourth international conference held by the non-profit organization Youth Break Boundaries in Istanbul, Turkey on March 22-25, 2021 The purpose of this event is to encourage young leaders to push their limits through a series of discussions and actions with the theme “Public Leadership Through Pandemic Crisis”. The expected benefit is the transfer of knowledge to young people and fostering leadership in crisis situations.

The Istanbul Youth Summit has been held since 2017 and will continue in 2021, which was attended by more than 150 participants from 23 countries. Various discussions featured international speakers and emphasized the role of youth during the current crisis. Delegates come from various fields of science and culture who can collaborate with each other in the fields of government, environment, education, economy, social and public health.

In this event, Ilham, who is a student of the Department of Geological Engineering class 2019, presented a project entitled sepia.id (Socio Edupreneur Indonesia). This project was developed by Ilham and friends to develop business ideas and competitive innovation as well as providing knowledge to the creative economy community. In addition, sepia.id has a vision to help improve community skills through training for business development. This Outstanding Project award is expected to be a driving force to contribute better to the community and nation.
