Semarang – The 4th Lustrum is a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Undip Geological Engineering Department. A series of events were held to enliven it on September 13-14, 2024. The activities were carried out on the campus of the Geological Engineering Department and its surroundings, Tembalang, Semarang City.
Twenty years is not a short time for an educational institution to develop from zero to now. Geological Engineering, Diponegoro University was officially established on August 4, 2004, as a result of the strong will and ability of the founders. Along the way, Geological Engineering has contributed to producing human resources who are ready to work, especially in the field of earth sciences. Its alumni have reached various work sectors and are spread throughout Indonesia and even some outside Indonesia.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary, the UNDIP Geological Engineering Department, IKA Geodipa, and the Geological Engineering Student Association (HMTG Magmadipa) collaborated to hold the 4th Lustrum event. The activities held include alumni teaching, bazaar, geofunwalk, and ceremony. Alumni Teaching is carried out with alumni speakers from various agencies and certain expertise which are attended by active students. The areas of expertise include environmental geology, energy resources, mineral resources, entrepreneurship and inspiration classes. The event was held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the Pertamina Sukowati Building and online. On Saturday, September 14, 2024, a series of events were held lively. The activity began with Geofunwalk, which is a fun walk with water theme, where participants are divided into two teams and shoot each other with water pistols at their opponents. Participants from alumni and students participated enthusiastically until noon. The activities were interspersed with a bazaar filled with tenants from the public, students, and alumni selling various interesting products. In the afternoon, a ceremony was held which began with the opening by the alumni chairman and department chairman as well as a joint prayer and cutting of the tumpeng as symbolism. Presentation of awards to retired lecturers for their dedication and services in developing the Department of Geological Engineering at its inception. The event was closed with a group photo, followed by gathering night and music performance. The prayers and hopes of all academicians and alumni that this department will be stronger in developing science and useful for society in the future.
